GUIDED TOUR OF GENERALIFE AND ALCAZABA AT THE ALHAMBRA

COMPLETE ITINERARY THROUGH ALL AREAS OF THE ALHAMBRA

   The meeting point is the Puerta del Palacio de Carlos V. From there begins a 1 hour and 30 minute route through several areas of the Alhambra included in this option, with an itinerary already organised to link gardens, palatial spaces, defensive area and Renaissance architecture within the same access.

   The first part of the visit focuses on the Generalife, where the route passes through spaces such as the Patio de la Acequia, the Patio de la Sultana and the Escalera del Agua. This is the section where much of the palatial and garden interpretation of this area of the complex is concentrated, with water as the visible axis of the route.

   Afterwards, the visit continues through the Baño de Comares or Hamman Real, one of the spaces linked to the Nasrid palatial realm. Here the bath rooms, the vaults with skylights and part of the technical system that enabled its operation are preserved.

   Next, the route enters the Alcazaba, the military enclosure of the Alhambra. In this part of the route you pass through the Barrio Castrense, the Torre de la Vela and the Jardín de los Adarves, a section closely linked to the defensive function of the complex.

   The visit ends in the area surrounding the Palacio de Carlos V, the Renaissance building erected within the Alhambra in the 16th century. Its floor plan organised around a circular courtyard marks the close of an itinerary that brings together several areas of the monument in a single guided tour.
