TWO UNIQUE ROUTES — Daily free tour through the complete historic city centre and lower Albaicín, with stops at the Cathedral, Royal Chapel, Madraza and the house of Enrique Morente. Night free tour of Granada at sunset, climbing to the San Nicolás Viewpoint to see the illuminated Alhambra and hearing legends such as that of the Calle del Beso. SMALL GROUPS — Maximum 30 people per guide for a more personal and comfortable experience. Guides wait at Plaza Bib-Rambla, next to the Giants' Fountain, with an orange umbrella so you can spot them easily. REAL FREE TOUR CONCEPT — You pay nothing when you book. At the end of the tour a tip of €10.00 is the most common amount, although it is entirely up to you based on your level of satisfaction. THIS IS HOW WE SHOW YOU GRANADA: THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO SEE IT — OUR FREE TOUR IS THE BEST

GRANADA IS A CITY…

  • NASRID

The last Muslim kingdom on the Iberian Peninsula. The Alhambra, Generalife, Albaicín. Nasrid palaces unique in the world, a hydraulic system that still works 700 years on. Your guide explains Arabic inscriptions that others cannot translate.

  • OF THREE CULTURES

Muslims, Jews and Christians lived side by side for centuries in the very streets you walk today. The Madraza (Islamic university), the Royal Chapel (Catholic Monarchs), the Alcaicería (medieval souk). Living history in every stone of the historic city centre.

  • UNIVERSITY

The University of Granada was founded in 1531 and is one of the largest in Spain. A young atmosphere, free tapas with every drink, authentic nightlife. Your guide points out the best bars frequented by local students.

  • GASTRONOMIC

The birthplace of free tapas, pionico granadino, broad beans with ham. The San Agustín Market, Albaicín tea houses, Arabic sweets from the Alcaicería. We recommend where to eat like a true Granadine.

  • BESIDE SIERRA NEVADA

The only European capital with a ski resort 30 minutes away. Unique views from the San Nicolás Viewpoint, cármenes with private kitchen gardens, the Sacromonte carved into the rock. An unparalleled landscape between mountain and fertile plain.

MONUMENTS YOU WILL VISIT ON OUR GRANADA FREE TOURS FROM THE OUTSIDE

Prepare your visit by getting to know the history of each monument on the route. Our official tourist guides from our own team have created this information based on years of showing Granada to travellers from all over the world and explaining the details that only a local guide knows.

  • ALHAMBRA AND GENERALIFE: Nasrid monumental complex with unique palaces and gardens featuring an advanced hydraulic system and views of Sierra Nevada.
  • GRANADA CATHEDRAL: Great Renaissance cathedral with a single tower, linked to the dynastic project of Charles V, though the royal pantheon was later moved to El Escorial.
  • ROYAL CHAPEL: Mausoleum of the Catholic Monarchs and their heirs, built after the conquest of 1492 and home to important historical relics.
  • ALBAICÍN: Medieval neighbourhood of Muslim origin with cobbled streets, cármenes and iconic views of the Alhambra — a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • ALCAICERÍA: Former Nasrid silk market rebuilt after a fire, today filled with craft shops with an Arab atmosphere.
  • MADRAZA: Former Islamic university with a well-preserved Nasrid oratory, now integrated into the University of Granada as a cultural space.
  • SACROMONTE: Neighbourhood of caves linked to the origins of flamenco and Romani culture, famous for its zambras and rock-carved dwellings.
